Intervention Guidelines

The Minister for Housing established Intervention Guidelines [pdf 60kb] for use by the Registrar of Housing Agencies. These Guidelines ensure Performance Standards are met and part of the regulatory framework.

The Registrar uses Guidelines in situations of severe financial breach, mismanagement or misconduct of a registered agency. Several legislative mechanisms are available to us. However, use is strictly limited and considered as a means of last resort.

If an agency fails to comply with the intervention, the Registrar may apply to the Supreme Court for an Order requiring agency compliance.
