Registrar of Housing Agencies

The Registrar is a body corporate and reports to the Minister for Housing.

The Registrar is responsible for promoting continuous improvement in affordable rental housing through

• registration of rental housing agencies (as housing associations or housing providers)
• regulation and monitoring of registered agencies

Acting registrar of housing agencies

Mr Kenneth Downie, Director Policy, Strategy and Communications in the Office of Housing was appointed Acting Registrar of Housing Agencies on 21 July 2007.

Dr Owen Donald was Acting Registrar of Housing Agencies from February 2005 to July 2007.
